Can I send you a knitted blanket instead of fleece?
We prefer the fleece blanket to a knitted blanket and here’s the main reason why: knitted blankets tend to have holes or spaces that let in cold air.  The room where patients receive their Chemotherapy treatments are kept cooler, the fleece blanket keeps the patient very warm, that is why we prefer the fleece to a knitted blanket.

I have a “gently used” fleece blanket that I would like to donate is that okay?
No we are only accepting brand new fleece blankets.

Do I have to order my fleece fabric or the no sew fleece kits from JoAnn Fabrics?
No you may order your fleece from what ever store you would like.

Do I have to buy my fleece kit online?
No you may purchase your fleece from a store in your area, you do not have to purchase it online.

Do I have to have you put my no sew kit together?
No, if you want to put your kit together that is great, but we will gladly accept kits to put together for those who don’t have time or don’t know how to do it themselves.

Can I have my girl scout or brownie troop put kits together for your donation drive?
Yes, this is a great volunteer project for anyone who needs volunteer hours for school or any project.  It is a lot of fun to get your troop or a group of friends together and tie the kits.

Can I wrap my blanket up for the patient?
No wrapping is not necessary.  We will take care of that for you.

Can I order a teen or youth size no sew kit for your donation drive?
Yes, we are now accepting both adult sized no sew fleece blanket kits and the child/teen sized no sew fleece blanket kits.

Can I just send you a monetary donation instead of a fleece blanket?
No at this time we are not accepting any monetary donations, only the homemade fleece blankets.

I want to donate a child sized blanket what does the size need to be?

The size we recommend is 48″ x 60″.

Is there a No Sew Fleece Blanket Kit in the child’s size?

Yes, there are many patterns available through the JoAnn Fabric and Craft Store website, there are links provided to many on our sidebar.

Can I make my own child size blanket in a pattern I choose or does it have to be made from a kit?

Yes, you can purchase your own chosen fabric, you do not need to make a blanket from a kit.

I am donating a child size blanket do I ship it to the same address as a adult blanket donation?

Yes.  All blanket donations, whether for a child or an adult go to the same  Layers of Love address.
